Featuring special guest Joan Nestle of Lesbian Herstory Archives

Join Gerber/Hart for a conversation with the Curve Foundation, Lesbian Herstory Archives, and June L. Mazer Lesbian Archives for Lesbian Visibility Week!

Lesbian archives are vital repositories of history, culture, and community. In this panel discussion, representatives from some of the largest lesbian archives in the USA will explore the importance of archiving lesbian narratives, the challenges and successes of their work, and the impact of their collections on promoting visibility and understanding of LGBTQ+ women’s and nonbinary people’s experiences.

Gerber/Hart Director Erin Bell and artist Amanda Cervantes will be featured on the panel along with representatives from across the country.

Gerber/Hart has resumed its regular hours of operation for walk-in patrons and for viewing exhibits.

Gerber/Hart is located in the Howard Brown Health Clark building, which is a healthcare facility. Face masks are required to enter the building, in Howard Brown spaces, and common spaces like the hallways and bathrooms. Face masks are optional in Gerber/Hart spaces.

You do not need to make an appointment to browse the library collection or view exhibits. It is helpful for researchers (those making use of archives collections, periodicals, or items from Special Collections and making use of a researcher's table) to let us know ahead of time that they will be coming to do research (please email info@gerberhart.org)
